Child Protection and Safeguarding for the community and voluntary sector Safety Net aims to help community and voluntary sector organisations to meet their safeguarding responsiblities by providing training, information and support. The Safety Net Director, Terri Fletcher, is currently the elected representative for the community and voluntary sector on the Local Children's Safeguarding Board (LSCB) which has a statutory responsiblity for ensuring that organisations work together to safeguard children and young people in it's area. Safeguarding Audit We have recently undertaken an audit of safeguarding issues for the community and voluntary sector in Brighton and Hove, go to Resources to download the report. We are currently working with the LSCB and the voluntary sector forum to try to make improvements to safeguarding resources for the sector. Anti-Bullying work in the community and voluntary sector We have recently produced a booklet for schools outlining the range of anti-bullying work carried out by the sector. Go to Resources to download the booklet Training Safety Net provides regular child protection training sessions geared to the community and voluntary sector. You can access free e-learning which is currently funded for groups based in Brighton and Hove. Educare, via the NSPCC also provides free e-child protection training for community and voluntary sector organisations.
