Workshops and Training for Parents

Family Link offers range of opportunities for parents/families to come together from one off workshops on particular themes to structured evidenced based parenting programmes over several weeks. Parents get a lot out of these experiences learning new skills, sharing ideas with each other and building supportive relationships. They usually run in schools, some run in partnership with school staff, and can be adapted to suit the needs of the group

Workshops that we can provide include:

  • Settling into School (transition to primary)
  • Ready for Secondary (transition to secondary)
  • Feeling Good Feeling Safe (a protective behaviours approach)
  • Building resilience for parents and children
  • Triple P - Positive Parenting Programme: talks and courses download more information here Triple P
  • Family SEAL family social and emotional learning in partnership with school
  • Family art – Using art to build relations and confidence. for parents & children
  • Dads Aloud – Helping fathers build relationships children, school and each other

Training and Workshops for Children and Young People

We can provide a range of training opportunities directly to children and young people in school and in out of school settings.

These workshops and courses include:

  • SNAP (Safety Net Assertiveness Groups for children)
  • Peer Support and buddy schemes to set up a buddy scheme in your school
  • Peer mediation training using the Safety Net VITAL approach
  • The Safety Game – personal safety workshops for children
