  •  1st December, 2022
     9:30 am - 1:30 pm

This course is delivered in collaboration with Brighton and Hove City Council taking place on Thursday 1st December, 2022. It will take place Face-to-Face, venue to be confirmed. The duration is 4 hours which includes short breaks.

This is a BHCC course which we are helping to facilitate as the Learning Gateway is closed.

This course is for all those early years practitioners/childminders who have previously completed a Safeguarding Lead course before and want to refresh their knowledge. Previously completing safeguarding lead training before is essential. If you do not have this we would recommend attending our Safeguarding Lead course first.

The course covers safeguarding issues relating to all age groups up to 18 years. We look at your role as Designated Safeguarding Lead in establishing a safe environment and safe working practices in protecting children and young people from harm and abuse.

The course will help you:

  • Understand your role and responsibilities
  • Explore related policies and procedures
  • Create a safeguarding culture
  • Make appropriate referral decisions
  • Understand key issues around record keeping, sharing information and confidentiality
  • Put together a safeguarding action plan for your role and organisation
  • Be updated on the background information about the law and child protection
  • Improve support networks

If you have any questions please contact the training team on 01273 420973 or email
