Mindfulness is a particular way of giving our attention to our present moment experience which anyone can practice. It is widely recognised as a powerful tool that can help us enhance appreciation of life and manage stress.
This course is for for parents and anyone who works with children and young people who want to learn how to cope with stress and anxiety, boost their happiness and tap into resources of resilience and create more joy and calm in your life. Please note participants must have completed Part 1 of this course or be regular mindfulness practitioners, or have completed a course at Safety Net and wanting a refresher.
Part 2 of this 8 week course enables participants to continue practising and exploring how mindfulness can open our awareness, learn new ways to relate to, deal with and manage difficulties.
Key learning includes:
• Working with difficult situations, particularly within relationships and communication
• Exploring our responses to suffering: developing a new relationship to pain and chronic health conditions
• Cultivating kindness to ourselves and others
• Looking at self-nourishment and exploring what sustains us
• Integrating mindfulness in daily life in a full and sustainable way
The course comprises of 4 x 2 hour sessions on Wednesdays, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. The group is friendly and relaxed and involves a mixture of teaching, discussions and practice. We offer FREE audible meditations and there will be suggested daily home practice involved. The sessions run from 3rd February to 24th February 2021 inclusive.
